Richard E. "Dick" Goff

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Richard E. Dick Goff, age 84, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Celebrant Mark Dettmer officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.Dick was born in Newark, Ohio on April 23, 1932 to the late Clyde H. and Mary Belle (Embrey) Goff. He passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, on July 25, 2016.Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement, he was a supervisor with Package Corporation of America (PCA) for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer, golfing with his brothers daily. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, working in his yard, and was a CB radio operator, and was known by the handle paper maker. Most important to Dick, was spending time with his family, especially going to his grandchildrens sporting events. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Phyllis (Berry) Goff, whom he married January 26, 1985; daughters, Christine A. (Bruce Ford) Goff, Phyllis D. (Joe Spring) Weir and Regina D. (Kevin) Simons; son, Richard Timothy (Marcia Wills) Goff; step-son, Brian (Andrea) Yocum; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; loving dog, Zoe; and special neighbors, Max and Connie Rentz.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Nelson, Clyde Jr. and Tom Goff.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dick to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.The Goff family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio and Licking Memorial Hospital emergency room and ICU unit for all of the excellent care and concern that was provided to Dick.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dick and the Goff family.
