A funeral service celebrating the life of Richard Eugene Gross, age 72, formerly of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks must be worn inside the funeral home. For your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing.
Richard was born February 12, 1949 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Donald and Rosemary (Allwine) Gross. He passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville.
Richard was very lovable and if you were his friend you were friends for life. He was also known to be quite a flirt. Richard was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes and loved attending the Spark Adult Day Program where he had many friends. Richard was very patriotic and loved America. He especially loved the songs “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless the U.S.A.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Huston.
