Richard Eugene Hamm, 83, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Chapel Grove Heath, Ohio. Richard was born on June 11, 1930 in Thornville, Ohio. Gene, as he was usually called, served in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Geraldine Graham Carman whom he married on March 30, 1956. Gene worked for the Shelly Company and then Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. where he retired.Gene is survived by his daughters, Karen (Jim) Harrison of Hebron and Martha Klinikowski of Jacksonville, Fla; grandchildren, Adam Peach, Kevin Neff, David Klinikowski and Brenda Klob; great-grandchildren, Casey Peach, Eliza and Alanna Klob and Ashley Klinikowski; several nieces and nephews.Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry; daughter, Linda Neff; parents Margaret and Harold Hamm; two sisters and two brothers.Family will receive friends at Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service in Thornville, Friday, October 18, 2013 from Noon till 2 PM.Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday at Lutheran Reform Cemetery in Thornville.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Richard.The Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to serve the Hamm family.
