Richard J. Hardy

Richard Hardy passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio).

Rich was born in Canton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Ethel (Tracy) Hardy; his siblings, Willard “Bud” Hardy, Bea Melick, Bert Warner, and Nancy Edmunds.

Rich is survived by his children: daughter, Marsha Joan (Hardy) Tudor and her children, Sean Glover and Nate Glover; his son, Dennis Hardy, his wife Celia, and their children, Avery Hardy and Rex Hardy. Rich is also survived by longtime companion Helen Mann, her daughter Diana McKee and her family.

Rich attended Hanover-Toboso High School. He left school to serve in the Navy. Upon his discharge, he returned to high school and graduated in the class of 1947.

While he and his family resided in California for a short time, they returned to Newark where he worked and retired from Owens Corning.

He is loved and will be missed by all.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
