Richard Edwin “Charlie” Kirkbride, age 78, of Newark, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Charlie, as he was fondly known, was born June 6, 1942 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Albert Clinton Kirkbride and Bonnie June (Davis) Kirkbride Losinger.
Charlie was a moulder at Stuck Foundry for many years and had also been a groundskeeper at Indian Hills Golf Course. He had a lifetime membership to fish at TJ Evans Park and enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and making people laugh.
He is survived by two children, Ellen S. Carter and Richard E. Kirkbride, Jr., both of Millersport; grandchildren, Charles Carter; long-time friend, Dorothy Semons; sister, Dorothy Dillon; brothers, Danny (Judy) Kirkbride, William Kirkbride, Timmy (Donita) Kirkbride and John (Tina) Losinger; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Dillon; and brothers, Albert “Leo”, Robert and David Kirkbride.
A family memorial will be held at a later date and interment of his urn will take place on his father’s grave in Somerset.
