Richard L. Rago

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Richard L. Rago, 80, will be held on April 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Grove City with Pastor Peter Ray officiating. Military honors will follow after the service.He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 23, 1931, the son of the late Louis G. and Viola B. Rago.Rick was an avid hunter, who loved to hunt in Michigan and South Dakota. He also enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Rick was an air traffic controller for 30 years and proudly served his country in the United States Air force.Rick also spent numerous hours volunteering in his community.He is survived by his loving wife, Jo whom he married in 1953. He is also survived by his children: Linda (Ted) Copeland of Savannah, Ga, Louis (Denise) Rago of Broadview Hts., OH, Michael (Leah) Rago of Reno, NV. His brothers: Donald (Gail) of Garden City, MI, and Gerald of Monroe, MI.; his grandchildren: Amy and Evan Taulbee, Christopher and Brandon Rago; and great-grandchildren: Evan and Ella Taulbee.He is preceded in death by his parents: Louis and Violet (Smyczynski).In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to: the Kobacker house, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, 43214; or to Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd.
