Richard L. Reece

A memorial service celebrating the life of Richard L. Dick Reece, age 80, of Newark, will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Gene N. Waters officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Dick was born April 29, 1936 in Newark, Ohio to the late Zane W. and Florence L. (Mitchell) Reece. He passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home.Dick retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Owens Corning Retirees and was also a former member of the Newark and Heath Eagles. He enjoyed watching OSU football, cars, golf and playing cards. He loved animals, especially his dogs, Bandit and Lizzie.He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon A. (Conkling) Reece, whom he married September 20, 1996; and by children, Ricky L. (Dawnell) Reece of Newark, Rodney L. (Rebecca) Reece of Heath, Jacqueline D. Reece of Newark, Jennifer D. Reece of Newark, Theresa Squires and Earl Squires, Jr., both of New Port Richey, FL, and Laura (Stacy) Kannady of Howard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Zorka) Reece of Fallsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Dick and his family.
