A graveside service celebrating the life of Richard L. Taylor, age 73, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, at the Newark Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. The family will observe a private visitation on Thursday from 11 am-1 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Richard was born April 7, 1943 in Newark, Ohio to the late Stanley M. and Alice Helen (Field) Taylor. He passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.Richard retired from Rockwell International after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Newark Lodge #97 F & AM, Teheran Grotto, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge and the Moose Lodge #499 in Newark. He enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith K. (Holton) Taylor, whom he married October 19, 1960; and by three children, Rodney Lee (Carol) Taylor, Randy Lee (Paula) Taylor and Debra Kay (Chris) Anderson; nine grandchildren, Joel Lemons, Alex Lemons, Austin (Kayla) Lemons, Ashley (Jesse) Myers, Kyle Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Tanner Taylor, Nick Taylor and Zack Taylor; brother, Steven (Gina) Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Janice Castle, Carol Lallathin, Sara Flagg and Mabel Schwartz.Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Richard and his family.
