A funeral service celebrating the life of Richard P. Prince, Sr., age 72, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Frank Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Monday, February 6, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Richard was born in Jacksontown, Ohio on March 1, 1944 to the late Atha and Nellie (Bagent) Prince. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on February 3, 2017.Richard was the founder and owner/operator of M & P Towing in Newark for over 40 years. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, was a pet lover and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include loving wife of 47 years, Barbara (Milner) Prince, whom he married January 25, 1970; children, Chris Prince, Paul Prince and Tracy (Charity) Prince; grandchild, Kristin; step-grandchildren, Dale, Jai and Wes; brother, Donnie (Charlotte) Prince; mother-in-law, Wilma Milner; close friend and co-worker, Dave Stickle, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David; infant daughter, Jenny; father-in-law, Charles Milner; daughter-in-law, Lori Prince; brothers, Walter, Tim, Harry, Atha, Ralph and Buck; and sisters, Janice and Geraldine.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard to the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Dr. SW, Heath, Ohio 43056.
