Richard Rolland Daugherty

A graveside inurnment service for Richard Rolland Daugherty, age 69, of Grove City, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14, at the Newark Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Richard was born August 15, 1946 in Blacklick, Ohio to the late William Rolland Doc and Nellie Frances (Crabb) Cordray Daugherty. He passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home.Dick was a longtime member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union in Newark. He enjoyed carpentry and building things and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara J. (Wickiser) Daugherty, whom he married October 24, 1971; three children, Lynn Daugherty of Dublin, Lee Daugherty of Grove City and Richard R. Mayer, Jr. of Gahanna; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Cordray of Zanesville; sisters, Cecilia McClaskey of South Carolina and Sharon Crum of London; many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, George, Creed, Harry and Jimmy Daugherty; and a sister, Ruth Ann (Cordray) Balling.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Richard and his family.
