Richard Wells

A Memorial Mass, celebrating the life of Richard Dick Wells, age 71, of Pataskala, will be on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Granville, with Monsignor Paul Enke as Celebrant.Richard died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born June 29, 1945 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the son of the late Edwin and Helen (Stock) Wells.Dick proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Bliss College and worked as an accountant for the IRS for thirty seven years. He was a loving husband for forty nine years, a caring father, grandfather and cherished friend.He is survived by his loving wife, Bonita (Andrasek) Wells; children, John Wells and Kim (Eric) Lassahn; grandchildren, Samantha Lassahn, Ashlynne Wells, and Logan Wells; brother, Edwin (Nancy) Wells; and nieces and nephews.Dick made the decision to donate his body to the OSU Research Hospital. His selfless nature and need to help others will continue even after his passing in hopes of finding a cure for his disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dick to Foundation For Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430 or to St. Edward The Confessor Catholic Church, 785 Newark Granville Road, Granville, Ohio 43023.The Kirkersville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Dick and the Wells family.
