Rick L. Friley

A memorial service celebrating the life of Rick L. Friley, age 64, of Newark, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating.Rick was born May 21, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to the late David M. and Peggy (Bellomy) Friley. He passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital.Rick worked in maintenance at Walmart on 21st Street in Newark. He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions and working on cars. He loved horses and enjoyed painting statues. He was a wonderful handyman and remodeler and was a great father figure and mentor to many people.He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. Simonovics whom he met in 1995 and married on March 21, 2005; step-daughter, Melody Borghese of Dublin; sons, Shawn Friley of Columbus, Shane Friley of Columbus, Ricky Friley of Virginia and Chad Friley of Florida; several grandchildren; a brother, Randy (Louise) Friley of Carthage, Missouri; four sisters, Kathy (James) Atkisson of Lamar, Missouri, Kelly (Ernest) Houser of Jamestown, Ohio, Karla (Les) Lambeth of Carthage, Missouri and Kandy (Jim) Compton of Wilmington, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Rick and his family.Memorial contributions may be made to the family by visiting www.GoFundMe.com in the name of Rick Friley.
