A funeral service celebrating the life of Ricky L. Cunningham, 63, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service with Alfred Hinton as officiant. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing military honors. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Ricky was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 13, 1958 and was raised by Robert and Eleanor Cunningham. He passed away on January 8, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Ricky proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a commercial truck driver for over 30 years. He was a member of the Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed motorcycling, exercising, detailing vehicles, but most important was the time he spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy A. (Gatliff) Cunningham, whom he married July 25, 1998; children, Michelle (David) Field, Amy (Sam) Smith, Kacey (Dusty) Topp, Dustin (Anastasia Kakias) Polage and Randy (Natalie) Whitson; sister, Lisa (Tom) Melrose; brothers, Michael (Kim) Cunningham, Garry (Linda) Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, William (Diane) Crawford, Dave (Jackie) Crawford and Ralph (Julia) Hardy; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
