Ricky L. West

Ricky Lee West, Sr., 60 of Newark, died peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born on July 10, 1953 in Newark, the son of the late Herbert and Katherine West. He was a graduate of Sheridan H.S. class of 1972, and had worked at Tectum Corp. in Newark for 42 years. Ricky was an avid OSU Buckeye and Cincinnati Reds Fan. He enjoyed John Wayne movies and all things Western. He was a member of Newark Moose lodge since 1987. He is survived by his loving family: wife Wanda West, whom he married on December 24, 1996, his children: Ricky L West, Jr., Zack West, step-children: Frank, Chad (Melody) and Timothy Dzierwa, Jamie (John) Dowling; Brian and Kim Parkhill; brothers Chris, Bill, Dana and Chuck and sister Donna; along with 21 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy West in 2001. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 5-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from Noon until time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. in the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 E Main St in Kirkersville. Pastor Tom Myers will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Kirkersville Cemetery.
