A funeral service celebrating the life of Ricky Lee “Pops” “Pappy” Yost, age 65, of Pleasantville, will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street, Thornville with Pastor Aaron Bounds, officiating.  Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  Military honors will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rick was born December 18, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Paul R. Yost and Lavonna M. (Evans) Yost.  He passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. Rick drove dump trucks for Davis Trucking, and worked for a Columbus Detective Agency. He enjoyed going to Amish Country, and loved  to go fishing with his buddy Bryson and the rest of the family. Rick proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Rick was a volunteer fireman for Thurston fire department. His family was his life and he loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his mother he is survived by three daughters, Christine (Paul) Maynard of Thornville, Tina Yost of Millersport and Karen ( Danny) Stoneburner of Thurston, grandson, Bryson (fiancée Maria), five granddaughters, Megan (Bill) Tyree, Tamika, Breanna, Kyann and Natale; two very special great grandchildren, Xavior and Ellie Tyree, brother; Gary (Deanna) Yost, sisters; Joyce Barnett and Debbie (Chet) Reid, sister in laws, Alice (Bob) Greenrod, Doris(Steve) Marcus and Connie Butterbaugh, brother in law, Joe (Holly) Hill, and a lot of friends.  A very special thank you to his granddaughter Megan Tyree for being his caregiver. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart whom he married on October 31, 1970, Rosemary “Rose” Yost in 2015, after 44 years of marriage,  a brother, Paul David Yost, sister in law Barbra White, brother in law Chuck Hill, nephew Troy Wilt.
