Robert "Bob" L. Houseman

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert L. “Bob” Houseman, 71, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark two hours prior to the funeral service on Saturday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home. Bob was born in Newark, Ohio on July 23, 1949 to the late Harry and Betty (Tingley) Houseman. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on May 17, 2021. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a pipefitter with Owens-Corning Fiberglas for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, drinking beer and spending time with his loving grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Julia A. (Mason) Houseman, whom he married January 2, 2002; sons, Robert Bennett and Thad (Nikki) Houseman; sister, Judy Hackley; grandchildren, Blaine Bennett, Marissa (Noah) Sease, Avery Houseman, Jack Houseman and Kennedy Houseman; great grandson, Malachi Sease; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Neal. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to the Licking County Humane Society.
