A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Robert Clarence Diener, age 86 of Centerville, Ohio, formerly of Newark, will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Welsh Hills Cemetery, with Pastor Allen Stump officiating. Robert was born in Prospect, PA on June 22, 1931 to the late Clarence A. Diener and Ella Goldina (Grossman) Doughty. He passed away at his residence on March 4, 2018. Prior to retirement in 2007, he was a plumber and was a plumbing inspector for the city of Newark for 31 years. He also served as chief inspector for the State of Ohio for five years. Robert was a founding member of the Mary Ann Township Volunteer Fire Department and was a lifetime member of the Ohio Association of Plumbing Inspectors. Survivors include his children, Susan (Paul) Wilkinson, Daniel (Doris) Diener and Timothy Todd (Patty) Diener; grandchildren, Wendy, Ben, Elizabeth, Kristin and Sam; and great grandchildren, Alexander, Skylor and Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Virginia (Litton) Diener; son, Jon Thaddeus Diener; and sisters, Doris Leach and Mary Mae Wright.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Robert and the Diener family.
