Robert C. Mcelfresh

A graveside service celebrating the life of Robert C. McElfresh, age 87, of Newark, will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 275 North Cedar Street, Newark, on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Gill officiating.Bob was born December 7, 1927 in Newark, Ohio to the late Ralph W. and Erma (Waxler) McElfresh. He passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Heath Nursing Care Center.Bob was a graduate of Newark High School, class of 1945, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from White-Westinghouse where he had been a packer for many years. He was a former member of Woodside Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Post #85 in Newark. Bob loved the outdoors and his passion was fishing and he loved all animals.He is survived by a sister, Ann E. Robinson of Newark; nieces and nephews, Doug (Cori) Robinson, Sarah, Scott and Hannah Robinson, Pamela (Tim) Powell, Merrilee (Jesse)Sheck, Karen (Ty) Wollard; and many other nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, C. Fred McElfresh; sister-in-law, Vivian; special friend Becky Brooks; and many other friends and fishing buddies.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to your charity of choice or the Licking County Humane Society.At Bobs request, no calling hours will be observed.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the McElfresh family.
