Robert D. Craft

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert D. Craft, age 61, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Waters Edge Assembly of God, 2249 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055, with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.Robert was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 11, 1955 to the late Johnathan Alder and Juanita (May) Craft. He passed away unexpectedly at Licking Memorial Hospital on September 2, 2016.Robert graduated from Mifflin High School, where he was captain of the wrestling and football teams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a commercial refrigeration technician with Coca-Cola Co. for 23 years. He was an active member of Waters Edge Assembly of God, where he served as a board member, sound technician and youth play coordinator. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, was an avid Coca-Cola memorabilia collector, enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit and watching Jeopardy. Robert especially enjoyed spending time with his family and doting on his grandchildren and will be missed by all that knew him.Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Obella (Morano) Craft, whom he married August 2, 1977; son, Michael (Amy) Craft; daughter, Michelle (Khanthongthip John) Chanthachoumpha; grandchildren, Jacob, Dakotah, Cheyane, Gabriella, Austin, Noa, McKenna and Dayton; brothers and sisters, John Craft, Belinda Gunn, Brenda (Steven) Harper, Billy Craft and Nancy Craft; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Mark Craft; and sisters-in-law, Linda Kay Craft and Rose Marie Roa.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to Waters Edge Assembly of God.
