Robert E. Gierhart

Robert Edward Gierhart, 79, of Fairfield Beach, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born on December 1, 1934 in Columbus, son of the late Lamuel and Emma (Williams) Gierhart. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. A member of the Millersport Alturas Lodge #537, he was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Millersport American Legion and served as past chairman of both the Zoning Board of Walnut Twp. and the Fairfield Beach Property Owners Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Roxanne (David) Bailey; granddaughters, Tiffany and Brooke; and his half-sister, Ruthann Bracey.In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his step father, Arthur E. Walters; his brother, James M. Gierhart; and his half-brother, Arthur C.
