Robert Eugene Mason

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Eugene "Bob" Mason, age 76, of Thornville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street, Kirkersville.Robert was born April 23, 1939 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Earl E. and Mary Jane (Roby) Mason. He passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Heartland of Centerburg.Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where he had been a supervisor. He was a member of the VFW Post 1388 in Buckeye Lake and enjoyed playing cards at the Am-Vets. He also enjoyed fishing and watching sports and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes Football.He is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Don) Lambert, Candy (Dave) Pinkstock and Joy (Tom) Luttrell; son, Kenneth Mike (Candy) Mason; step-daughter, Linda (Jon) Hiles; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl Mason, Orville (Shirley) Mason, Mike Mason and Chester Reid; sister, Gladys McCoy; brother-in-law, James Butch (Linda) Miller; sister-in-law, Millie Faulk; nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Target.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma M.
