Robert Maxwell Hale, Jr., 74, of Thornville, passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on January 16, 2025. He was born in Glouster, Ohio on January 11, 1951 to the late Robert M. Hale Sr. and Deloris May (Davis) Hale. Prior to retirement, he was a group leader with Owens Corning for 44 years, and was a member of the GBBA Union Local #244. He enjoyed golfing, restoring Ford antique automobiles and playing the banjo and mandolin. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Nutter; son, Dean E. (Kelle Brotherton Carson) Carson; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (Steve Thomas) Shell, Charles D. (Jeannette) Hale Sr., Cindy May (Larry Hall) Hale, Janet Sue Freeman and Troy Lee Hale; grandchildren, Marisa Carson and Kari Powers; great grandchildren, Hunter and John; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Darlene (Anderson) Hale; and sisters, Brenda Deloris Bonkowski and Tracy Lynn Hale. Robert and his wife, Betty, will be buried together at Lutheran Reformed Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to Hospice of Central Ohio or to the American Diabetes Association.
