Robert Karl Kovach

Robert Karl Kovach, age 83, of Heath, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Bob was born March 18, 1937 in Springdale Township, Pennsylvania to the late Robert Valentine Kovach and the late Josephine Ann (Stucklua) Kovach.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He retired from B&O Railroad where he had been an engineer. Bob was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and was an excellent woodworker. He also enjoyed playing pool, shuffleboard and trains. He liked keeping busy and was very fit. Bob was a lifelong member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Jay Kovach (Cindy Miracle) of Florida and Brian Kovach of Newark; three step-sons, Michael (Jolena) Peck of Heath, Craig (Sherry) Peck of Newark and Brian Peck of Columbus; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Rich Kovach of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Bob Ley of Heath.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Sue (Shaw) Kovach on September 10, 2019; a sister, Beverly; and his faithful dog, Droopy.
