Robert L. "Bobby" Walker

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert L. Bobby Walker, age 79, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Clifford Mason as Celebrant. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark. Bobby was born December 22, 1938 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Robert L. and Hildred Bernice (Higgins) Walker. He passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home. Bobby retired from Rockwell where he had been a forklift operator. He enjoyed woodworking crafts and a good beer, especially Busch Light. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Newark. He is survived by a daughter, Debra (Trent) Colley of Hebron; grandchildren, Travis (Jessica) Colley, Dustin Colley and Josh Colley (fiance Alexis Graham); great-grandchildren, Abigail, Aleigha, Landon, Mason and one on the way; step-grandchildren, Michelle and Rose Walker; sister, G. Marie Liller of Newark; and daughter-in-law, Pattie Walker of Somerset. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Susie (Shumaker) Walker, on March 16, 2000; a son, William L. Bill Walker; brothers, Arvin Walker and Dale Walker; and a nephew, Jack Walker. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Bobby and his family.
