Robert L. Davis

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Robert L. Bob Davis, 84, of Etna, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 26, 2017, in the Kirkersville United Methodist Church, 180 East Main Street in Kirkersville, with Pastor Neil Gaiser as celebrant. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery. Bob died peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, with his family at his side. He was born in Etna, on July 17, 1933, the son of the late Walter W and Lillian L (Myers) Davis. He owned and operatedRobert DavisWell Drilling Service for many years. He was an active member of the Kirkersville United Methodist Church and the Kirkersville Lions Club. He also participated in the local and national associations for water well drillers. He is survived by his loving family: wife Shirley, whom he married on April 18, 1968, his children Karen (David) Smith of Chillicothe, William Willis of Etna and Brent (Patty) Davis of Galloway; his sister Shirley (Bob) Miller of Lancaster, and his grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Willis, his brother Eb and his two sisters Faye and Mary. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until time of the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the Church.
