A funeral service, celebrating the life of Robert E. Lamp, Sr., 92, of Chapel Grove Assisted Living, formerly of Harbor Hills, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.Bob passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Autumn Healthcare Center, Newark. He was born on January 23, 1920 in Summit Station, Ohio to the late Arthur and Mabel (Carson) Lamp. Bob served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a second generation builder and general contractor. He was also a 60 year member of the Hebron F&AM Lodge # 116, and a long time family member of Harbor Hills Country Club.He married V. Elnora Note Lothes on June 14, 1941. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2000 after 57 years of marriage.Bob is survived by his three sons: Robert E. Lamp, Jr. (Special friend, Diane Billow), Thomas (Deena) Lamp, and Dr. Michael (Pam) Lamp; eight grandchildren: Brittney, Kevin, Keith, Kurt, Dawn, Megan, Lauren, and Erin;five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Arnold and Jim.The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Masonic services will be held at 7:45 p.m.The family wishes to announce they will be holding a reception to celebrate Bobs life and times at the Harbor Hills Country Club following interment.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bobs name to: Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, Ohio 43055.
