Robert Bob Gunnar Lundell, 81, of Hebron, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2012 following a brief illness. He was born on February 16, 1931 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Gunnar and Signe Helena (Nykvist) Lundell.Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict era and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville, NARFE, as well as a life member of the Am. Vets. Post 51, Thornport.He was a 1951 graduate of Muskegon High School and later Ferris State University. Bob was an avid baseball fan and in earlier years, a pitcher. He retired from Newark Air Force Station, Metrology Lab after 30 years of service.Bob enjoyed reading, traveling, playing golf and euchre, deer hunting, gardening, and volunteering at Christs Table.He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Milly Lundell, of Hebron; sons: Michael and Erik Lundell; foreign exchange student, Vicente Correa and his family, of Paraguay; a brother, Irving Lundell, of Muskegon, Michigan; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, James Lundell.A funeral service, celebrating Bobs life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, Thornville with Pastor Beth Bateson officiating.Family and friends may call at the church, 65 East Columbus Street, Thornville, Ohio 43076, on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Home, 480 Water Street, Manistee, Michigan 49660.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Bobs name, be made to: Christs Table, 28 South 6th St. PO Box 233, Zanesville, OH 43702; Mid Ohio Food Bank, 3960 Brookham Drive, Grove City, Ohio 43123; Lutheran World Relief, 700 Light Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230 or Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 Attn: Gift Processing.Condolences may be sent to www.hoskinsonfuneral.comHOSKINSON-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, Thornville, is honored to care for the Lundell family.
