Robert "Bob" Mayer

  A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Robert “Bob” Mayer, 78, of Newark, will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens, 18260 Coshocton Rd, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 Visitation will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Bob was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on November 27, 1939 to the late Marcel and Myrtle (Spearman) Mayer.  He passed away on October 17, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Prior to retirement, Bob worked at Owens Corning for 34 years. He enjoyed golfing, walking his dog in the park, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Andrea C. (Ridenour) Mayer; children, Robert “Rob” (Laura Mauter Mayer) Mayer, Jr., Michele (David) Wright and Scott (Heather) Glasmeier; grandchildren, Ryan Mayer, Alex Mayer, Evan Mayer, Brandon Dauer-Mayer, Grace McMorris, Jesse McMorris and Eric McMorris; and one great granddaughter, Mylah Gail McMorris; In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Mayer McMorris; and brother, James Mayer.
