A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Newman Holler, age 79, of Heath, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Dave Mason officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.Bob was born February 9, 1935 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his home following a courageous four year battle with cancer.Bob retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18, of Columbus, where he had been a heavy equipment operator. Bob attended the Heath Church of Christ and was a member of Newark Lodge #97 F & A.M.He enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycling and he and his wife, Betty, traveled to 49 states in their fifth wheel camper. Bob was a supportive father and caring friend and he always had something funny to say.He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Betty (Hanby) Holler; four children, Kathleen Sue Goslin, Ronald Lee Holler, Karen Elaine Morrison and Roberta Pauline Holler, all of Newark; step-children, Maryann Dennis of Heath and Marcia (Tim) Kuyper of Tempe, AZ; grandchildren, Mick Goslin of Louisville, KY, Elaine Hamada of Knoxville, TN and Jacob Mark Morrison of Newark; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and former wife, Norma Jean Holler of Newark, a devoted friend who prayed for him daily.He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Lily May (Sprouse) Sargient; his grandparents who raised him, Gertrude and Charles Sprouse; a granddaughter, Katie Marie Morrison; and a brother, Charles Nile Holler.A special thank you to Bob and Ann Pletcher for their support and prayers and to Hospice of Central Ohio for their excellent care.Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. A Masonic service will be observed at 7 p.m. by Newark Lodge #97 F & A.M.In lieu of flowers, it was Bobs wish that contributions in his memory be made to the Ruthie Miller Fund in care of the funeral home. Ruthie is the 11-year-old Newark girl who is dying of a brain tumor.
