Robert Robby Robertson, 87, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Newark, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014. He was born on August 28, 1927 in Newark, Ohio son of the late Junior and Peggy Haley and was adopted by the late George and Carrie Robertson. He attended Baldwin Wallace College, graduating with his degree. He worked at Owens Corning, the Pure Oil Refinery, and Rockwell International where he retired.Robby served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1945 thru 1948. He was stationed in Germany at the end of WWII during the Nuremburg Trials and then in Korea during that conflict.Robby was a practiced bowler and was inducted the first year into The Newark Bowling Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in bowling. He was very proud of this and even had license plates that read ROBBY HOF. He also enjoyed golfing, which led him south so he could play all year long. Robby also enjoyed all types of dancing, especially square dancing. He was active with golf and dancing until his passing.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Robertson; his biological parents, Junior and Peggy Haley; his adoptive parents, George and Carrie Robertson; as well as his sisters, Jean and Katherine.Robby is survived by his son, David (Reda) Robertson of Heath OH; his daughter Cynthia (Ralph) Nethers of Frazeysburg, OH; Grandkids: Brynn (Spencer) Burger of Martinsville VA, Brandt (Jessi) Nethers of Nashport OH, Matthew Robertson of Heath OH, Lynsey (Ben) Hoffman of Frazeysburg OH, Audrey Nethers of Newark OH, and Cole Nethers of Frazeysburg OH; Great grandkids: Grace Robertson, Chloe Robertson, and Briggs Burger.Online condolences may be sent to: www.hoskinsonfuneral.comHOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for the Robertson Family.
