Robert Savoy "Bobby" Ross, Jr.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Savoy Bobby Ross, Jr., age 72, of Worthington, formerly of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Bobby was born on October 6, 1943, in Newark, Ohio to the late Robert S. Ross, Sr. and Bernice (Phillips) Ross of Newark. He passed away on May 22, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.Bobby graduated from Newark High School where he excelled in basketball, track and field. He also attended Central State University. He retired from Rockwell International where he had been employed for over 30 years. Following his retirement, he became a passionate photographer. He practiced his art at many family and friend gatherings. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling and fishing of all kinds and was always well dressed.In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Eric S. Ross; granddaughter, Bailey Renee Ross; brother, David (Marcie) Ross; niece, Tora Ross; nephew, David Ross, Jr.; great-nephew, Niko Ross; and many other family members and friends as well as special friends, Penny, Brenda and Zesta.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Bobby and his family.
