Robert W. Hommon

A funeral service for Robert W. Hommon, age 89, of Hebron, will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Hebron Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Private burial services will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.Robert was born in Newark, Ohio on January 30, 1925 to the late Roland and Mary (Hatfield) Hommon. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on October 31, 2014.Prior to retirement, Robert was a machinist with Kaiser Aluminum for nearly 30 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion in Hebron; and he enjoyed playing the piano and organ.Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Ann (Jim) Neel of Hebron; daughter-in-law, Pat Hommon of Hebron; three grandchildren, Tricia Hommon, Doug and Dennis Neel; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Marjorie Elizabeth (Elijah) Hommon; one son, Raymond Hommon; brother, Richard Hommon; and sister, Betty Armstrong.Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Hommon family.
