Robert Clyde Wilson

A funeral service celebrating the life of Robert Clyde Wilson, age 87, of Buckeye Lake, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Wesley Higgins officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 28, and also from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Robert was born March 4, 1932 in Pentress, West Virginia. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Robert retired in 1997 from Clark Lift of Columbus where he had been a mechanical technician. He was a member of the Four Square Church in Heath where he taught Sunday School for a number of years and served on the church council. He served on the Buckeye Lake Village Council and was a charter member of the Buckeye Lake Lions Club. Robert was a big car and gun enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Lucy Genevieve (Higgins) Wilson, whom he married June 1, 1954; daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Beneze of Peyton, Colorado and Anita Biehl of Thornville; son, Robert Clyde “Rob” Wilson, Jr. of Buckeye Lake; ten grandchildren, Vanessa Beneze, Melissa Workman, Dwayne Beneze, Jeremy Grimes, Laura Brown, Kristina Jackson, Sharon Grimes, Joshua Biehl, Benjamin Wilson and Katherine Wilson; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, George Howard Foley of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Worley Ellis “John” Wilson; mother and step-father, Lottie Luemma (Stewart) and George Foley; son, C. Larry Wilson; great-grandson, Aaron Messer; sister and brother-in-law, Anna Mae and George Willard; brother, Arthur Foley; and son-in-law, Barry Biehl.
