Roberta L. "Suzie" Schumaker

October 23, 1946 — June 15, 2017

A funeral service celebrating the life of Roberta L. Suzie Schumaker, age 70, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Corbin Huffman officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark. Suzie was born October 24, 1946 in Newark, Ohio to the late Howard Lee Pickrel, Sr. and Betty Jean (Moran) Pickrel. She passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Suzie was a homemaker and a member of the Newark Eagles. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She is survived by step-children, Ronald E. Schumaker, Jr., Shelly Schumaker and Jordan (Crystal) Schumaker, all of Newark; granddaughter, Amber Lynn Schumaker of Newark; brothers, George Pickrel (Diana Hoover) of Newark and Howard (Mary) Pickrel, Jr.., of South Carolina; nieces and nephews, Kristina (Anthony) McCallister of Newark, Tabatha (Ethan) Long of Lancaster, Samuel Pickrel of Newark, Christopher Allen Pickrel of Utica, Howard E. Pickrel III and Shawn Kirkpatrick of Newark; many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Francis Frank Patrick and Ronald E. Schumaker, Sr.; and by three sisters, Joann Pickrel, Donnajean McInturf and Kathryn Marie Laughery; and a brother, Mark Aaron Pickrel. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Suzie and her family.
