Rodney Ray Acord

A funeral service celebrating the life of Rodney Ray Acord, age 58, of Granville, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Eric Pohlschneider officiating. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Kirkersville Cemetery. Rodney was born December 11, 1959 in Newark, Ohio to the late Kenneth Eugene and Eileen Virginia (Layton) Acord. He passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Rodney retired from the Ariel Corp. in Mount Vernon where he had been employed for over 11 years. He was also formerly employed with Rockwell in Columbus for five years. Rodney enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes, the Reds and the Steelers. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah A. (Zahrndt) Acord, whom he married on September 15, 1979; and by three children, Dawn C. Acord of Freemont, Ashley J. Acord of Granville and Chad M. (Lydia) Acord of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Leah Brittany Felton and Caleb Allen Felton; brothers, Richard (Theresa) Acord and Rolland W. (Pamela) Acord, all of Coshocton; sister, Karen McMillen (fianc, Mike Davis) of Coshocton; mother-in-law, Betty Zahrndt of Granville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
