Roger William Agnew, 79, of Newark, passed away early Saturday morning, October 12, 2024, at the Laurels of Heath. He was born in Newark on June 14, 1945, the son of the late Clarence and Ellen (Brown) Agnew.
He was a graduate of Newark H.S. and worked various jobs throughout his career. He retired from Heath Pallet and Lumber Co after about 15 years of service.
He was a member of the Heath Church of Christ. Roger enjoyed NASCAR and OSU sports along with the Ohio professional teams. He loved to work on cars.
Roger is survived by his daughter Christina (Edwin) Smith, daughter-in-law Becca Sheldon Agnew Hoskinson, his brother Tim (Susan) Agnew; his grandchildren Abby (Alec Young) Smith, Brittany (Tye Hiatt) Smith, Michael (Kaitlyn) Smith and Joshua Smith; his great grandchildren Amilee, Theodore Smith, Archer Young, Lydia and Kora Marquart; Autumn, Christy, Katy and Aly Agnew.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Karen, who passed in April of this year; along with his son Jason Agnew who passed April 16, 2024 and his sister Susan Moran.
Honoring Roger’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
