Roger D. Mummey

A memorial service for Roger D. Mummey, 58, of Millersport, will be held on September 15, at 1:00 p.m. at the Millersport home of Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service,11544 Summerland Beach Road, with David Mummey officiating. Military Rites will follow in Veterans Park, Millersport. Roger passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, following an extended illness, as he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 22, 1953 in Newark, Ohio to the late Harry Mummey, Jr. and Anna Mae (Good) Banfill, who survives. Roger was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Buckeye Lake VFW Post #1388. He was active in several outdoor sports and was a Cleveland Browns enthusiast.In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his wife, Nina, whom he married on March 10, 1973; his daughter, Amy Carver; a sister, Rose Anna (John) Smith; three brothers, Danny (Tina), David (Barbara), and Donald (Tammy) Mummey; two grandchildren, Christopher and Derk Carver; his mother and father-in-law, Jim and Ruth Hart; two brothers-in-law, David and Jamey Hart; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Jerry (Brenda) Mummey and his great-grandson, Derrick Carver.
