Roger Lee Gothard, Jr.

Roger Lee “Jay” Gothard, Jr., age 46, of Newark, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Jay was born September 15, 1976 in Lancaster, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Jay was an avid football fan and was a huge fan of the Oakland Raiders and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his son, Aaron Skidmore of Florida; mother, Janet Lee (Callahan) Gothard of Newark; sister, Luann (Joseph) Myers of Newark; brothers, Adam Gothard (Amy Williamson) and Tony Gothard, all of Newark; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins; and former wife, Paula Keller of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Lee Gothard, Sr. on January 29, 1996; and by his wife, Teena Miller on February 8, 2021.

In his generous nature, Jay gave the gift of life and hope to others by being an organ and tissue donor through Lifeline of Ohio.
