Roger Dean Medley

A graveside funeral service for Roger Dean Medley, 66, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Springer officiating. Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Roger was born on December 7, 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Leon and Florence (Cochran) Medley. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on April 12, 2022. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he worked at the Newark Air Force Base and DSCC for over 30 years. He was a member of the Heath Eagles Lodge, where he enjoyed playing on the softball team. He also enjoyed golfing, working on his roadster, but most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Jennie Medley; grandchildren, Gabriel Miller and Avery Miller; sisters, Charlotte (Pat) Walker and Nancy Berger; brothers, Paul (Florence) Medley, Edward (Rebecca) Medley and James (Willadene) Medley; nephew, Chad (Kimberly) Medley; great nephew, Caleb Medley; loving dog, Selena; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Medley; sisters, Mavis Cullison and Shirley Medley; and brother-in-law, Roger Berger.
