A memorial service celebrating the life of Ronald E. Bebout, Sr., age 85, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. There will be a live broadcast of the service via the funeral home’s Facebook page.
Ronald was born January 28, 1937 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Charles and Ruth (Mauger) Bebout. He passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Arlington Care Center.
Ronald’s father, Charles Bebout, was the original owner of Newark Fence Company. Ronald graduated from Newark High School and went on to be employed with the Ironworkers Union and did fencing and ironwork for a living throughout his life. He was a licensed contractor and owned Tri-County Fencing & Railing Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He finally retired when he was a few months shy of 78 years old, working for over 60 years of his life from the time he was a teenager until he retired. Hard work was all he ever knew his whole life. He will always be loved and will surely be missed by his children and family. He is now with Jesus in Heaven and with everyone he has ever loved.
Ronald enjoyed going on vacations here and there and especially enjoyed traveling to Ohio from Florida to visit his family. He liked the simple things in life and his family was very important to him. Ron also liked going to concerts and to the movies, and loved going on cruises, as well. Ronald also very much liked outdoorsy stuff such as going to the beach, fishing, camping, hunting, and boating. He was always up for anything. Ronald was the type of man that would help anyone in need and he was well liked by everyone around him. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his children, Ronald E. Bebout, Jr., Tammy Bebout, Leanne Marinello, and Kelly Baum; step-son, Randy Slusher; grandchildren, Megan Stiles, Gabriella Filippone, Tyler Hudson, Gregory Ryder Marinello, Stephanie Barkley, and Riley Baum; brother, Duane Bebout; nieces and nephews, Steve, Joe, Robin, Jody, and Brandon Bebout, Cindy Reul and Holly Delgado.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Bebout.
Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Ronald and his family.
