Ronald Lee "Archie" Garey

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ronald Lee Archie Garey, age 63, of Millersport, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Glen Starner officiating. Burial will take place in Millerport Cemetery where military honors will be observed.Archie was born April 20, 1951 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Eugene and Wanda Kat (Foss) Garey. He passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Heartland Fairfield Care Center in Pleasantville.Archie was a 1969 graduate of Millerport High School and was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Thornville Amvets Post 51. He enjoyed watching TV, playing Yahtzee, and was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeyes football and of NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart.He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patricia Ann Patty (Huston) Garey, whom he married November 9, 1986; son, Eugene Garey, step-children, Heidi Thompson of Millersport, Robyn Wright of Columbus, Amanda Wright of Heath and Tami Jane Bailey of Thornville; brother, Bill (Pat) Garey of Glenford; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Becky McCarley.Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street, Thornville.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for the Garey family.
