Ronald Eugene Offenbaker

Ronald Eugene Offenbaker, age 71, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. Ron was born September 14, 1949 in Newark, Ohio.

Ron was a 1967 graduate of Newark High School. A veteran of the United States Army, he faithfully served his country during Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Ron retired as Senior Technician in the Composites Testing Lab at the Owens Corning Tech Center where he had been employed for over 40 years. Ron’s pride and joy were his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by a son, Jason (Abigail) Offenbaker; daughter, Sarah (Michael) White; four grandchildren; sister, Debra Townsend; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Marjorie (Hupp) Offenbaker; brothers, Terry Hupp and Kevin Cannon; sisters, Karen Gerhart, Jenny Wilson and Mary Ann Sherrard.
