Ronald "Tony" L. Payne, Sr.

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Ronald Tony L. Payne, Sr., age 71, of Whitehall, will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 East Main Street, Kirkersville. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Jersey Cemetery.Tony was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 22, 1945 to the late Ralph Curtis Payne and Mary Louise (Perry) Bulen. He passed away at Mt. Carmel Medical Center on December 7, 2016.Prior to retirement, Tony worked in the concrete business for many years. He and his wife were also foster parents for over 25 years with Franklin County Childrens Services. He enjoyed painting, wood working and loved spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Ida J. (Napper) Payne, whom he married November 8, 1964; sons, Ronald L. (Lacie Barrett) Payne, Jr. and Melvin Lee (Toni Ann) Payne; step-son, William E. Perry; brother, David (Debbie) Payne; sister, Diane (Bob) Rose; grandchildren, Jason (Codie) White, Brandon Payne, Mark Payne, Dillon French and Matthew Payne; great grandchildren, Colton and Remmie White; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Melvin Lee Bulen; brother, Clarence C.
