A Celebration of Life gathering, for Ronald E. Trein, 81, of Newark, will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at The Landings at Maple Bay, 101 Narragansett Dr., Hebron, Ohio 43025. Ronald was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 19, 1942 to the late Charles F. and Edith M. (Shaw) Trein. He passed away at his residence on January 16, 2024. Prior to retirement, he worked as a foreman for the Herman Falter Meat Packing Company for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing in Lake Erie, bowling, camping, traveling, but most importantly was the time he spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Pauline A. (Bixler) Trein, whom he married September 9, 1960; Children, Steve (Kathy) Trein, Michael (Kelly) Trein and Lori (Chris) Cohagen; grandchildren, Douglas (Jen) Trein, Ronnie Trein, Paige (Chris) Beisel, Randy (Miranda) Trein, Christopher (Emily Noss) Cohagen, Taylor (Jacob) Justice, Carissa Cohagen, Ty (Kasey) Trein; great grandchildren, Tucker, Olivia, Vanessa, Mason, Hudson, Kayson and Brooks; brother, Keith “Bubba” (Vicki) Trein; daughter-in-law, Karen Trein; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Scott Trein; and brothers, Larry “Earp” Trein and Bill “Squirrel” Trein.
