Ronald Wayne Bishop

April 9, 1954 — May 23, 2018

Ronald Wayne Bishop (aka Ron, Ronnie, Papaw) was surrounded by his wife of 33 years, his daughters, and one son-in-law, when he was made whole again in the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the age of 64.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, James Bishop, mother, Marietta Polk, step-mother, Jean Bishop, father-in-law, John Weaver, mother-in-law, Barbara Weaver (Miskimens), and step-sister, Patricia Gonzalez.

He is survived by his wife, Renee (Weaver); daughters, Melissa (Clint) Appleman, Courtney Bishop and Deseree (Steven) Lothes; grandchildren, Savannah, Addison, Dayton, Caroline, Johnathan and Brady; his sisters, Susan Janie Bryant and Carol (Don) Kennedy; step-sister, Bonnie Barbieri; sisters-in-law, Shelley (Dave) McCarty, Josie (Randy) Huber and Nicole (Brent) Medley; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that he loved (and teased) dearly.

Ron was born on April 10, 1954 in Dallas, Texas and was a baby brother to his sisters, Carol and Janie. Even though he had a tough childhood, his sisters were present and helped raise him into the man he became. He spent his young adult life in Texas with a stop here and there in Coloradoa place he spoke of often and loved.

He met the love of his life, Renee, and her three year old daughter, Melissa, and the three became a family when Ron and Renee married on September 30, 1984. They lived a simple life and had two more daughters (Courtney and Deseree). The family moved to Ohio in 1989 and made a home in Buckeye Lake. Ron was self-employed and worked on several houses, docks, and sea walls around the lake. One example of his handiwork is the old lighthouse water tower. Ron loved his family, boating, golfing, good Mexican food, and the ocean. He was strong, good humored, and wasnt afraid of hard work. Ron was the kind of man everyone wanted to be around. He and Renee raised three strong women, who grew up and blessed them with six grandchildren. The children all adored their Papaw Ron.

All of his life, Ron showed incredible strength and courage � the final battle he faced with a cancer diagnosis, was no exception. He fought long and hard and is finally at peace.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Rons Life on Wednesday, June 13, at 6:00 p.m. at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark Granville Road, Granville, with Pastor Tom Pound officiating. A reception will immediately follow.
