Ronald W. Writesel, 65, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 7, 1948 in Columbus to the late Nathan A. Writesel and Joan (Healey) Writesel, who survives. Ron proudly served his country in the US Navy having retired after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Father Huber council Knights of Columbus, the V.F.W .Buckeye Lake Post #1388 , and the Fleet Reserve. He was an avid collector of many things including baseball cards, model cars, and old records. Ron was a lover of music, but most of all a family man who enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.In addition to his mother, Joan, he is survived by his wife, Elta McKinley, whom he married on April 25, 1970; four children: Veronica, Ronald(Brandee), Nathan, and Chris (Dawn) Writesel; five grandchildren: Christian, Zander, Kaiden, Jordis, and Ayla; three brothers and one sister: Nathan, Steve (Marsha), Pat (Shelly) Writesel, and Theresa (Writesel) England; his father and mother-in-law Richard Dick and June McKinley; as well as Carolyn and Ed Vantilburg; David Writesel; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Miles Writesel.A funeral service, celebrating Rons life, will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 21, 2013, in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service,285 E. Main St. with Chaplain Jack Nix officiating.
