Ronnel Frank Merica

A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Ronnel Frank Merica, age 74, of Newark, will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Perryton Cemetery. Ronnel was born in Cumberland, Maryland on August 11, 1939 to the late Lester William and Mary Jane (Keefer) Merica. He passed away at his residence on February 26, 2014. Prior to retirement, he worked for Package Corporation of America and Mobile Power Wash Co. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Hupp) Merica of Newark, whom he married June 14, 1968; daughter, Carol Merica of Newark; grandson, Johnathon (Kelly) Merica of Lancaster; great grandson, Jaedon Merica of Lancaster; sister, Margaret Peck of Flintstone, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Joshuwa Merica; and sister, Bernice Walker. Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville St., Newark on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
