Ronnie L. Thorpe

A funeral service, celebrating the life of Ronnie Lee Thorpe, 61, of Somerset, will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.Ronnie died Saturday, November 7, 2015, in Columbus, after a hard fought battle with cancer, during the last 2 years living life to the fullest and inspiring others to live in the moment. He was born December 9, 1953, the son of the late Donald J Thorpe and Manzella (Woods) Thorpe of Thornville.He was a 1972 graduate of Sheridan H.S., enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, NASCAR and Classic Cars. He was retired from the J.K. Leohner company in Lancaster.He is survived by his mother, his wife Lisa (Moore) Thorpe, who he married on May 30, 1992, his brothers Dale (April), Dino, Craig (Beth), Bart (Mary) and Kevin (Shannon); along with brothers and sisters in law Kevin (Terri) Moore, Tom (Debi) Moore, Jeff (Nancy) Moore, Ron (Linda) Pradetto and Kathy Moore; along with many nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles; and very close friend Sandy McCord.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Shirley Moore, and his nephew D.J. Thorpe on November 1, 2015.Friends may call on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 56 S.
