Funeral services, celebrating the life of Rose Karen Medley, 77, of Pataskala, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the chapel of the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral Home, with her son Pastor Robin Medley as officiant. Burial will follow in the Kirkersville Cemetery.
Karen passed away on January 15, 2021, at her home. She was born in Ironton, on June 5, 1943, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred (Stewart) Davis.
A lifelong homemaker, she enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, camping and travel, as well as spending time with her family. She was a member of the Rose Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband Robert Medley, whom she married on November 16, 1963; her children Rob (Terri) Medley of Mentor, Robin (Rebecca) Medley of Johnstown, and Douglas Medley Sr. of Etna; her grandchildren Erica, Deborah, Adam, Douglas Jr., Mary Beth, Samuel and Luke Medley; her siblings Claudette Allen of Coal Grove, Joyce Bamer of Whitehall, Pamela Whitehead of Circleville, Ronald, Darrell and Keith Davis, all from Ironton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville, from 12:00 Noon until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Due to COVID 19 restrictions imposed by the State of Ohio, only 25 persons are allowed in the funeral home at one time and face masks must be worn.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be directed to the James Cancer Research Hospital at The Ohio State University or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
