Roy Anthony Ford

A funeral service celebrating the life of Roy Anthony “Tony” Ford, age 77, of Mount Vernon, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, at the Kirkersville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Dwight Back officiating. Burial will take place in Kirkersville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Tony was born February 3, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Roy Lee and Mildred Marie (Clark) Ford. He passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Kobacker House in Columbus.

For many years, Tony was the owner and operator of Tony’s Shell at State Route 256 & I-70 in Reynoldsburg. He was a coach for youth league football in Pickerington for several years and for 10 years he coached Colt football, a youth league in Mount Vernon. Tony was active with his children in 4-H and was an advisor for 15 years. An avid car enthusiast, Tony loved hotrod cars and trucks. He enjoyed restoring, showing and racing hotrods.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Anne “Judy” (Moses) Ford, whom he married August 12, 1969; children, Shelley Lynn Ford of Bucyrus, Mary Marie Ford of Mount Vernon, and Anthony Michael “Tony” Ford of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, James (Heather), Jack (Jocyelynn), Colton (Liz), Kristal (Nick), Tasha, Tabitha, Miranda (Greg), and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Elloise, Millie, and Eleanor, all of Mount Vernon, Lily and Jake of Wisconsin, and several other great-grandchildren of Kentucky and Florida; brother, Charles (Lillian) Ford of Powell; sisters-in-law, Penny Ford and Esther Ford, both of Pataskala; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverley Ann Williams; and two brothers, Randal Ford and William Ford.
